Two differentiated strategies
For the second phase of the strategy, Outokumpu has launched two customer differentiated strategies for business area Europe. The company aims to strengthen cost leadership in high-volume stainless steel products and a global market leadership in advanced products. Business area Europe will strengthen its position as the customer’s first choice in sustainable stainless steel.
To ensure the execution of the differentiated strategies in Europe, Niklas Wass leads the business line of high-volume products and Thomas Anstots the business line of lead advanced products.
World-class mills with clear roles
Our Europe business area focuses on cost position and customer engagement building on our #1 market position. Our world-class mills form an integrated entity in which each mill has a clear, defined role in the production, and nearly 6,900 employees work at our mills in Europe. Our Tornio mill in Finland, Krefeld mill in Germany, and our finishing unit in Terneuzen, the Netherlands focus on the high-volume products, while advanced products are manufactured at our mills in Avesta, Degerfors, and Nyby in Sweden as well as Dahlerbrück and Dillenburg in Germany, In addition, we have a metal powder plant in Krefeld, Germany.
